PixHell collects nothing, sends nothing, and stores nothing outside your device.

What the app can see

PixHell asks for access to your photos and videos so it can show them to you one at a time and act on what you decide. Nothing else on your device is read.

What leaves your device

No photo, and no information about you. There is no account, no sign-in, no cloud sync, no backup, no crash reporting and no analytics.

Tips, and the one thing that uses the network

PixHell has an optional tip jar. Tips are handled entirely by Google Play — the app never sees your payment details. A tip unlocks the “Awesome edition”: your stats and achievements. Google Play keeps a record of the purchase so it can be restored on a new device, and the app caches a local yes/no flag of it; every cleanup feature is free with or without a tip.

Including the tip jar means the app declares internet access, because Google Play's billing library requires it — that library is Google's code, and it is the only part of PixHell that talks to anything. It is the only reason internet access is there. PixHell contains no networking code of its own — no analytics, no crash reporting, nothing that phones home — and your photos are never uploaded anywhere by anything.

What is stored, and where

A local index of your media, and the keep or delete decisions you make. Both live in the app's private storage and are removed when you uninstall PixHell.

Deleting photos

PixHell never deletes anything on its own. Swiping only marks an item. Moving items to the trash and permanently deleting them are both done through Android's own confirmation dialog, which you have to approve, and which lets you deselect anything you changed your mind about.

Your responsibility

PixHell and its developer are not responsible for any photos or videos that are deleted, whether intentionally, unintentionally or by accident. Keep a backup of anything you can't afford to lose.

PixHell is provided as is, without any warranty, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Deciding what to delete is yours: please review what you mark, and check the list in Android's confirmation dialog before you approve it. Trashed items can be restored from your phone's Trash, but emptying the Trash is permanent. The full terms are in the terms of use.

Ads and tracking

There are none, and there is no paid tier that removes them.
